How to Relieve Menstrual Cramps

During your period, it is normal to feel a level of abdominal cramps— and pain around your back and thigh region. This is because your uterus contract at this time. This cramps start a couple of days leading to your period and continue throughout the duration of your period. Menstrual cramps can be painful, but there are ways to relieve this pain. Let's explore some of these ways

APPLY HEAT

Applying heat to your abdomen and back helps relieve cramps. You can take a warm bath or use a heating pad. If you are using a heating pad, you might start to feel better after minutes of using it. Do this from time to time for a better result.

AVOID CERTAIN FOOD

Avoid foods that causes bloating; fatty foods, caffeine,salty food etc. Avoid them to help alleviate the cramps. Instead, eat food like

• Chicken(Not fried)

• Leafy green vegetables

• Fish

Eat fruits like Papaya, walnuts, almonds and pumpkin seeds.

WATER

Drink lots of water to avoid painful bloating. Warm water is better for cramps because it helps blood flow and relaxes the muscles. You should also eat fruits that contains a high percentage of water like

•Berries

•Watermelon

•Cucumber

•Letuce
