Post partum depression happens after childbirth.  Postpartum depression isn't baby blues. Postpartum depression makes you feel empty, sad and hopeless. With postpartum depression, it becomes a struggle getting through each day, as the symptoms becomes severe with time. Postpartum depression is a serious mental illness—so it will interfere with your day-to-day life. Postpartum depression is quite common, as it affects one in nine new mothers. Recognizing the symptoms is the first step in seeking help. These are some of the symptoms of Postpartum depression.

SYMPTOMS

The body changes after pregnancy. Some women describe it as being thrown into a new body and having to learn how to be in it all over again. So, some changes after pregnancy are normal. The causes of postpartum depression are not completely clear, but here are some of the likely causes.

• Medical history of depression or other mental health issue

Postpartum depression is a common mental health illness that affects mothers after childbirth. It is completely treatable, so it is important for new mothers to look out for these signs and seek medical help immediately they start to feel the symptoms. Delay can be harmful to both the mother and the child.
